why are players cup tied?

I joint last week
decided to have a look around for some new players, found some, bought them, transfer done, but i cant play them because they have cup next to their names, what does this mean?
how long will it last?

Answers
When a player is cup tied, it means that can only play in a cup game for the team that they are tied with. Once a player makes one appearance for a squad in a cup game, they become cup tied and cannot represent any other team in that competition, even if they are transferred.
It will last all season long. When the season is over, it will go away.
