Can friendlies affect player morale?

Additional Details

I want to improve my youth teams morale, and supposedly by letting them play a lot of games you can increase their morale. However, I don't want to use them in big games (low ratings). If I use them in friendlies, will it have the same affect on their morale as normal games?

    No, friendlies can't affect any of your players mentally or physically. In fact, it gives you a good opportunity to try out different tactics and fringe players ahead of the new season.

    Friendlies are meaningless and don't affect anything. If you want o improve morale then, play them and hope that you win as that helps in building morale. Also try and offer new improved contracts to them.
