how do players increase there rating?

Hi... i've a question. i've been buying some players that i think they will raise their rating based on what they are doing. My question is: Based on what you guys raise their rating? cause i've por example a player that in the last 2 seasons playerd 5631 minuts and scored 20 goals and his rating doesn't go up since 2009(!).he's young and has rating 77. Other managers have the "ability" to buy players that play like 1000 minuts in one season and scored 1 goal and that player raises from 77 to 82 for example. this doesn't make any sense. Want to know your opinion about it. Peace

    Players ratings are based on what they do in real life. For example if you have a striker that hardly scores any goals for you but scores lots in real life then his rating will most likely go up, it doesn't matter how well they do on the game, this doesn't affect their rating
