Player Talent Scout: Rayan Cherki

Rayan Cherki is considered one of the best ever prospects to graduate from the fabled Lyon academy and he announced himself to a wider audience this weekend with two goals and two assists in OL’s Coupe de France win against Nantes.
16 year-old Cherki is an attacking midfielder who possesses all the tools to make it to the top; vision, great ball control, quick and an eye for goal.
He made his first team debut in October 2019 as a late substitute against Dijon, and has gone on to make five more appearances from the bench as well as a start in the Coupe de la Ligue against Toulouse.
Cherki has been compared to former Lyon captain Nabil Fekir, and France legend Zinedine Zidane and he looks like the most talented French player to emerge since Kylian Mbappe.
With Lyon well known for giving game time to young players, Cherki is in the best place to fulfill his enormous potential.
