Player Talent Scout: Emre Demir

Posted on 23rd April 2020

Emre Demir hit the headlines in November last year when he scored as a substitute against Gençlerbirliği. The goal meant he become the youngest ever Süper Lig goalscorer, and the eighth youngest goalscorer in all of Europe.

The left footed attacking midfielder has already made 12 appearances for Kayserispor, who are currently sitting bottom of the Turkish top tier. If as expected they are relegated it will be interesting to see if he stays at the club to continue his development in 1.Lig or makes a move to a bigger Turkish club.

Demir has represented Turkey at Under 14, Under 15, Under 16 and Under 17 level and it is likely he will continue to progress all the way through to the full national team.

Emre Demir has been on the radar of top European clubs for a while, and has already been on trial at both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. A move to another club in Turkey might be the next logical step and if he continues his development it won’t be long until the big European clubs start circling again.
