July 12th, 2008 by SoccerPro

Giving a shout out to the STL, podcast host Curtis welcomes Nathaniel to the booth. For those that don’t know, St. Louis was the home to many of the players who formed the United States’ 1950 World Cup squad. You Brit’s know what I’m talking about. Egg off your faces yet?

Pull up a chair and listen as Curtis and Nathaniel guide you through another session of the Goalmouth Scramble. The latest episode, titled: Today In Soccer History. And, loyalty versus money? Is the answer too obvious? tackles some of the issues that face today’s professional players as well as a couple of EPL team previews. That’s right, as Americans we think we know more…period. Could we be more wrong, or are we spot on?

Listen to Curtis and Nathaniel as they discuss some of the biggest events in US Soccer history, before attempting to pick apart the strengths and weaknesses of two clubs who found themselves moving in different directions at the end of the 07/08 campaign.

Can Middlesbrough replicate it’s from the last week of the the past season, or will it be s struggle for survival? Can Arsenal turn the corner and break the stronghold at the top of the table? Will Walcott finally get his break or will he continue to warm the end of the bench? Finally, listen as some special guests chime in on the current state of transfers in Europe. Has team loyalty been thrown out the window? Have transfer fees and player wages become larger than the game itself?
So, what do you think? Can Middlesbrough beat the drop? Does Arsenal have what it takes to win a title? Can the transfer mess be fixed? Send in your comments and let us know what you think. Email us at goalmouthscramble [at] soccerpro.com.

Personally I would love it, pardon the Keegan pun, to see every club having a fix wage budget like in the Super League because it would show that the big clubs are weak as hell without the financial backing.

Also I gotten bored of the English leagues because of the money and turn to other clubs that don’t have the millions that the Prem teams have.
