France v England

March 26th, 2008 by SM Dev (ste)

Tonight England will play the first of three friendlies in their build-up to their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign. After Fabio Capello’s troops play the French tonighit, they are set to play the United States in May, and then the Czech Republic in August.

I believe that this will be Capello’s sternest test out of the three friendlies as France are a world class team, and if you just browse through their squad you will see this instantly.

It should be a good friendly tonight as centuries of rivalry, friendship and conflict have forged the two European heavyweight nations, and the respect is mutual. Also throw into the equation that the French see this as a perfect encounter to test themseleves prior to Euro 2008 and also that the English will be wanting to impress Don Fabio in only his second match, and you have a perfect recipe for a friendly match.

Soccer Manager would like to know what you think the outcome of the match will be?

Who will triumph in Paris tonight?

Les Bleus

Neither as it will finish in a stalemate!

The Three Lions

oh u got dissed!France will mash up England! But i think CAPELLO is the best thing that has happened to England after winning the world cup in 1966! France won the world cup in 1998 and came runners two years ago

Ferdinand as captain is a disgrace, there’s 4 or 5 players id have before him. But France are still experimenting to be honest, trying to fit new players in all the time, the likes of Nasri and Toulalan and Benzema. But if they can get these new players to gel and find an 11 that work well together blending the old players with the new i think it could be an amazing squad, better than the english squad. France score first, nasri assist benzema goal, but england to come back 2 one, a gerrard belter to win it. but allez les bleus!!!

  • 19. rick  |  March 27th, 2008 at 9:27 am

unlucky for england we should get back on top for the next freindlies

  • 20. Daniel Humphrey  |  March 27th, 2008 at 9:36 pm

    The game was poor.
If there wasn’t a goalkeeper the score would only be 2-2.
The only thing that happened was the penalty and Beckham being subbed for his 100th appearance.
Boring game, unfair result. Should’ve been draw

  • 21. Phil  |  March 28th, 2008 at 6:28 pm

I think the score will be 1-0 to France with a penalty as the winner in 32 minuits. Ok i know the score but it was a poor game
