Talent Scout: Adrián González Morales

July 29th, 2008 by SM Dev (ste)

It seems like a lot of the players I mention within this section are from Spain and that is in part to La Selección dominating the U-19 European Championships, and also the fact that the Spanish have arguably some of the best youth systems in the world.

Ths Spanish are a nation proud of their cantera policies, and some of the best canteras in Spain belong to Atheltic Biblao, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Barelcona, Valencia, and Sporting Gijon. Over the past 18 months players like Juan Mata, Javi García, Ruben de la Red, Markel Susaeta, Bojan Krkić, Álvaro Negredo, and Esteban Granero have emerged from their respective academies and exploded on to the scene. Another player who could join this list within 12 months is Adrián González Morales.

In May 2008, Adrián was bought by Getafe from Real Madrid Castilla, and Los Merengues have the option to re-buy the player. This is a shrewd move by the Azulones following the signings of talented youngsters İbrahim Kaş, Joffre Guerrón, Eugen Polanski, and Esteban Granero, and the minnows from Madrid are putting together an exciting young team.

Adrián like with Juan Mata, Javi García, Ruben de la Red, Álvaro Negredo, and Esteban Granero before him graduated from Castilla. However, like with the aforementioned he has not been given a chance with the reigning La Liga champions, and due to this he has left the club to gain valuable first team experience.

The talented winger is the son of ex-Real Madrid legend Míchel, and it would have been hard for Adrián to leave the club where his father enjoyed so much success. However, moving to Getafe will allow him to display his skills on a regular basis in La Liga as he should enjoy plenty of playing time. It will come as no surprise to those that having been following the carrer of Adrián if he has a successful season at the Azulones as he has shown his skill whilst playing for a Selección at the U-19 European Championships and U-20 FIFA World Cup, and also last season whilst on loan in La Segunda with Gimnàstic.

Adrián González Morales is currently an 82 rated LM/W on SM, and if enjoys the same level of success which Esteban Granero and Ruben de la Red did with the Azulones, then it will not be long before his rating rises.

Please Note: There is no guarantee that the player(s) named within this article will have an increase in rating, as the above information is my opinion, and not that of the SM Researchers. It is also your own responsibility if you decide to take a chance on the information I have provided.
