Messages: Gold Championship 19

Gold Championship 19 (GC19) was created earlier today.

On Monday 21st July, 2008, GC18 was created at 02:00 Game Time, and the following day I created an article in relation to selecting a team in a new Gold Championship. A poll was also created alongside this article to try and gauge the best option for members of our community to take control of a new club within a GC.

I have analysed the poll result (to find out which of you who voted were actually Gold Members), and also read the feedback left on the article and also within the SM Forum. However, one of the options which was not included centred around the creation of a GC randomly, and this is the option which we have decided to go for in relation to GC19 (to test the water so to speak).

I believe by creating a new GC randomly it will allow members of our community an equal chance to try and get a club of their choice within the new elite setup (however I could be wrong). Feedback regarding the creation of GC19 would be appreciated so that I can continue to analyse the best way to selecting a team in a new Gold Championship.

Also some of you may be thinking why have we created a new GC only seven days after the last one was created? Well the answer to this question is in facts and figures (as of Monday 28th July, 2008):

Gold Members - 6,353;
Gold Members club slot allocation - 14;
Number of Gold Championships - 19;
Number of clubs withn all Gold Championships - 7,930.

Therefore if each Gold Member decided to manage clubs solely within the elite Gold Championships (which would require 88,942 clubs) there would be a massive shortfall.

As I stated earlier feedback regarding the creation of GC19 would be appreciated so that I can continue to analyse the best way to selecting a team in a new Gold Championship.

i didnt like this idea as i qiut a team that i had ( zenit very good team) and only got cantnia and i got them an hour after the creation. Im not compleaning but i didnt like this idea.

I think its a good idea, as I’m normally scrabbling at the end of the picks looking for a team suitable for using. the last two before this morning’s one (GC19) was made, I had Chivas USA in 17 and Bristol City in 18, two teams which I didn’t really want at the start but I had to contend with as others had taken all the better teams before I had

its a gud idea…didnt got the team that i wanted still I wud prefer GC to be created randomly rather then during a stated time as now it allows the regular members the more chance to get to pick better teams. Also creating GC frequently is also a very gud idea.

@ timmy, dont know how that happened for you, i got a team 5 hours after creation and there were only 60 odd takin

gc 19 was great. i got roma and before i had been stuck with teams like millwall and crystal palace. 10th person in gc 19 woot woot

gc 19 was a sweet idea. i was the first one in the setup and i had no idea what was going on. i got milan after having teams like chivas and almennia bielfeild

I was expecting a date but not a time and instead we got it completely random.

I missed out and will wait for someone to pop along but im happy with it like this.

it was an excellent idea. I didn’t get any good teams but i still like it better. previously, i had to depend on internet connection speed now it’s all luck and fair.

Previously, a lot of people from developing countries were at a great disadvantage because of the internet connection that’s not as good as in developed countries… well, now it is better.

i logged on by chance at 5.30 am and got a decent team (zenit)
but if i had not what chance would i have had
2 am when most of the managers are offline is hardly fair
ok i got a decent team but was i not given a chance of a top side.
i may be weeks before another g/c is created again i may be offline
i pay my money to be a gold member to take part in these set ups
but am not getting a fair chance at all the teams.
people moaned they did not get a good team but at least when you knew the time/date you had a shot.

i agree in a way that it should be done randomly sometimes
like gc19 was random then we should get a date for gc20
and for gc21 it should be random but you would have to say when it would be created between certain dates
and also you create it at 02.00 not many people from the uk where its home is are going to be awake so its not fair in that way because someone in another country might be a normal time for them to just pop on the computer go on this site and wow hey look at this a new gold championship is created i get myself a barcelona and tell me mates quickly to get the other good clubs

so think about this please
i understand what you saying and mean when you saying you have to test it
and looking for ideas but there is no right or wrong idea in general terms

lol just put all your ideas in a hat and draw one out randomly lmao that would be fair
but we do need to start to know whats happening is the next gc going to be random
you going to get a lot of people staying up 24/7

i don’t like the way the GC19 was created randomly because i did not know when the gold championship was going to be created and could not get a good club in time i think that in future the GC should be created as they were for GC17 + GC18 so for GC20 the message should be that GC20 will be created on a particular day and at a particular time

at the moment with the last 2 g/c ’s being created i have all my slots filled
as i also suspect as have some other gold members.
with no notice of set up creation i would have to make a quick / rash decision to dump a team. rather unfair i think.
if i had one free slot i would still be reluctant to join custom setups made by freinds as i may have to quit in a rush ( as this would be the last set up i entered )
some managers need time to move teams or pick which to quit
plaese guys just a little notice would be fair

As usual you cannot make everyone happy so I think GC setups should be relesed using different options. Somtimes announce the date or time or both when the the GC setup will be created and other times just make them avaliable randomly.

the people that are moaning are the people that neva got any good teams its there fault if they neva got a good team this is my first good team that i have ever had and i got AEK athens

change it about abit. but always keep it as itb is for ur roots ……. when the nxt 1 startin am intrigued now. want a team who can challenge for honours
