Ideas & Suggested Improvements: International Management

October 23rd, 2007 by SM Dev (ste)

‘International Management’ has sprung up time and time again over the last two (plus) years and it is now on our ‘to do’ list. If you search through the forum you will probably see countless threads in relation to national teams, international management etc.

SM proposes ‘International Management’ in two forms. The latter one is the one which needs the most discussion as we need to find the best way to allocate national teams.

The first proposal is to create a tournament long (only) international setup. The three formats would be the Copa America, World Cup, and European Championship. These would run along similar lines to the real life tournaments. The tournaments would be available via the SM Shop, and as stated earlier would only last the duration of the tournament.

It will give managers the chance to guide their home nation to World Cup glory, compete in the America’s premier competition, or take part in the Euro’s.

The second proposal is to have international teams and competitions within SM run setups. Whether this will take the form of qualifiers for major tournaments followed by an international tournament, or just an international tournament is still open to debate. Whichever form it will take it will run alongside league games/tournaments.

With the second proposal the key to it is the question of how to allocate international teams? Are national teams to be allocated to managers dependent on success at club level? Are national teams to be allocated to managers dependent on how long they have been in the setup? The are countless suggestions on how they could be allocated, but the question is which are the most feasible? How would you allocate them?

Then there is the question of how a manager selects an international squad of say Brazil? Does SM impose a preset squad of 23 players based on the best players for each position or does the manager have the choice to select who he wants? If you select the former it could restrict managers calling up and selecting a squad of their choice. If you select the latter it could be open to abuse if not implemented correctly. What I mean by that is a manager could select all the lowest rated players for Brazil or select his rivals players in a hope that they get injured whilst on international duty. If this is the case then a minimum rating limit could be imposed. Another suggestion would be to run international games alongside league games but at the same time ensure that injuries on national duty do not affect league games or similar. All of this is a tricky subject to tackle and a happy medium has to be found.

International management will be introduced in the New Year to SM, but in what format is still open to debate and SM welcomes you to voice your opinion in relation to this on the forum.

I think that the international squads being introduced is a great idea and it should have a league, a Word cup (with gruop stage and everything), And a Euro. Having the the world cup and euro with Qualification games available.

    is that rlly fun ?

  • 22. kal elcock  |  January 13th, 2008 at 9:37 am

    we should manage them

  • 23. Jack O'Sullivan  |  January 13th, 2008 at 3:09 pm

i reackon that should be able to manager international teams by say if u had a certen amount of reputation points you should get a message saying that u’ve had a international team ask weather u want the job.

  • 24. Patrick McGrane  |  January 14th, 2008 at 4:43 pm

that wouldnt be a gud idea really becoz teams like brazil, argentina, france, italy etc are always gonna win against countries like ireland wales scotland etc…… jus think about it….

  • 25. Conia  |  January 15th, 2008 at 3:00 am

i think that the managers should select the players they want WITH an average rating limit, for example Brazil has to have a minimum average rating of 90(this is just an example)
Also, the manager that takes control of international squads should be elected by the people who work in soccermanager.com based on their manager points and history.
Finally, there should be qualifiers to enter cenrtain cups (the World Cup HAS to be one of them)
I can’t wait i want to control and international team!!! Argentina if possible:)

  • 26. darrell  |  January 15th, 2008 at 8:59 pm

this is a good idea but should only be avalible to managers with a higher sm rating because inexperienced managers may not be able to handle it

  • 27. darrell  |  January 15th, 2008 at 9:02 pm

plus u should be able to chose your squad from any team as long as they are the nationatiliy of the team

  • 28. Daniel  |  January 17th, 2008 at 9:11 pm

i dont agree with darrel because some of my friends would just join the game because of the fact that you can manage national teams
great idear to bring in national teams

  • 29. obafemi  |  January 19th, 2008 at 4:12 pm

the greatest idea i have heard in years

  • 30. jack  |  January 19th, 2008 at 6:49 pm

we should hav internatinoal teams and league setups soon !!!!!!!!

  • 31. Sam  |  January 19th, 2008 at 10:19 pm

I am commenting on darrells opinion. you say newer members may not be able to “handle “it. That is completely absurd. some unintelligent person could join sm and build up a reputation points as the weeks went by. then some absolute managing genius might join and he would be told he is unable to handle an international team becasue he is a new member. whereas the unintelligent person is alloweed cus he has been on the site for longer. How many reputation points you have can show you pretty much nothing about how good someones managerial skills are.
so darrell, think your opinions through next time before you suggest something so ridiculous.

  • 32. Fazrul Nawaz  |  January 22nd, 2008 at 5:08 am

I wonder wad country they have? Singapore?

    singapore is doing well,07-08.

    =s

  • 34. Randy Balzan  |  January 23rd, 2008 at 7:15 pm

Hello People, I Think Is A Good Idea That We Can Manage A National Team In Every Setup Or Else Only The Gold Members Can Manage A National Team.
    Thanks For Everything SM Managment.

  • 35. mark  |  January 27th, 2008 at 10:28 pm

u shud b able 2 manage international teams from diffrent setups to what d manager coaches in, dis wuld get rid of injuring rival players. bringing bad players to screw up a team shudnt b a problem

  • 36. ryan  |  February 1st, 2008 at 9:18 pm

that is really a good idea, i hope it works out well

  • 37. Scott  |  February 2nd, 2008 at 5:33 pm

you should have a thing where players are called up into the internanational games. like most players have been called to the african cup of nations.

  • 38. H  |  February 2nd, 2008 at 9:13 pm

LETS GET THIS RUNNING ITS A GREAT IDEA SO Y NOT THERE WILL B MOR CLUBS TO CHOOSE THEY SHUD ME 4 LEAGUES AND 20 IN EACH THE BEST IN TOP THEY SHUD DO A EURO AND A WORLD CUP AND IT SHUD ONLY B 4 GOLD MEMBERS

  • 39. Andrew Scott  |  February 3rd, 2008 at 12:35 pm

come on hurry this up man this should have been done by now this is a great idea but u need to start the process quickly and get it running

  • 40. bine  |  February 4th, 2008 at 10:18 am

i think there should be qualifers for all major tournaments. also only gold members should be allowed control over teams in the top 20(or so) FIFA world rankings. basic members (like me) can only control lower ranked teams….i mean i wud love the challange of taking faroe islands thru the qualifers. I’m already dreaming of a 1-1 draw away to france!
Also, for convenience and speed of setup, you should allow the top ranked teams, or countries with most players in the database, to alter their squads, but the ranked teams with the current real life squads. This will prove who has the best tactics.
Wen should we expect this? I heard new year, but meh

  • 41. jay  |  February 4th, 2008 at 12:44 pm

international management would be a great idea, should
run along with the normal setups, but allow us gold
members to introduce it to our own leagues. this in turn
would allow managers to manage their respected teams
but manage national teams at the same time.

  • 42. shady  |  February 5th, 2008 at 9:01 pm

we need scouting it would mk the game much better

  • 43. Salomon  |  February 6th, 2008 at 12:56 am

i think this is an awsome idea because u got to control the team of your nationality in a international game as soccermanager and i think thats rly kool. but it will be better if u do a world cup between each setup. dat would be amazing. but add all the national teams like in south america, asia europe , africa and all them

  • 44. Joe Reeves  |  February 9th, 2008 at 6:10 pm

Should Get A LEAGUE LIKE THE GOLD MEMBERS DO AND HAVE A LIL OWRLD CUP SORT OF FING

  • 45. Fazrul Nawaz  |  February 10th, 2008 at 10:22 am

OMG! I cant wait! when is the teams ready? maybe shold let us take 3clubs and one team total up we should have 4 clubs

  • 46. sumukh s prakash  |  February 12th, 2008 at 10:11 am

Wow its a terrific idea. i always wanted to manage a national team

  • 47. Filip  |  February 13th, 2008 at 9:31 pm

i can’t wait! I hope it’s in March or soon

  • 48. Dan  |  February 14th, 2008 at 12:43 pm

I think it is a great idea bein countries and proving whos the best but its taking ages so hurry up and get on with pepz

  • 49. nick  |  February 16th, 2008 at 11:48 pm

great idea i think itll help the game cause the people who can only manage 3 clubs cause of there rep might make them realise that if they want to manage a international team then they have no choice but to get gold membership so… we will see more gold members :)

  • 50. bradley cee  |  February 19th, 2008 at 10:50 pm

i think that this is a great idea and it should be the next improvement that soccermanager make becuase it would be great to have a couple of leagues just for gold members to be international teams

  • 51. mohammed  |  February 20th, 2008 at 7:36 pm

i dont think it is a very good idea because if u thing about it the same old teams wud allways win.

    e.g : Brazil / argentina / england / spain / portugal
    Italy / france

and thats it because teams in asia and africa are underated in this game.
u cant make transfers only do tactics since wen can cardif beat a team like barcalona

thats bascily like having Brazil Vs India or sumfing

thers no way india wud win but in real life ther is the smallest chance but no chance in the game

  • 52. Chris J  |  February 20th, 2008 at 7:38 pm

great! :-) really looking forward to it! I argree with the group stages and qualifiers for every thing!!! We should have leagues and seasons as well!!!

  • 53. lewis moore  |  February 22nd, 2008 at 2:20 pm

when is this happening do you have to be certain repuation to manage a national club

  • 54. Daniel Humphrey  |  February 23rd, 2008 at 12:17 pm

I would love to manage national squads. You get to experience what its like on in World Cups and other tournaments and plus you can buy players you know from the national scene for your clubs, so i think it is a proper good idea

  • 55. Harry B  |  February 23rd, 2008 at 1:43 pm

at least 80 internatinal teams as well and u have to be part off the setup and it dont count as a team like i have 7

  • 56. Ben  |  February 24th, 2008 at 9:57 pm

Hopefully Kazakhstan Are In It :)

  • 57. charlie sutton  |  February 25th, 2008 at 9:27 am

the only problem is that you cant do transfers if you want to play international with transfers that fine. apart from that good idea

  • 58. Garethd  |  February 25th, 2008 at 8:44 pm

Great idea!! But International teams should only be given to the managers who have allready proven themselves a success at club level. It’s also taking too long so hurry up!!!

  • 59. qelik  |  February 26th, 2008 at 10:49 am

its great idea.please create albanian national team when you do all of best world nations.its succes for you if you do that

  • 60. The Shire  |  February 28th, 2008 at 10:51 am

I think international teams is a brilliant idea. However I don’t think that intergrating them into the current set-ups will work. I reckon having their own league would work better. Have every other season as world cup and the others as euro etc. Then have them set up as often as the other leagues are I.E. the world set-ups and euro set-ups which already run on SM.

  • 61. Oat  |  February 29th, 2008 at 7:13 am

I love national team but I is complicate to build the SM system coz national team must have all player from chosen country for national selection. And this world have more than 200 countries, you must have a massive database.

    Good luck!

  • 62. patrick  |  February 29th, 2008 at 4:24 pm

    Oat^^^
    sorry m8 but ur wrong
all the players are already in the database….. its just a matter of sorting them into their corresponding country

  • 63. 2to3to4to5to6to7to8to9to10  |  March 1st, 2008 at 8:23 pm

i would love to manage natinaol teams in the world cup.It should have world cup qualification matches. The world cup should go to the top 15 managers in each setup and the euro should go to the least 5 in the three divisions then the euro champion should play the world cup champion and the winner gets the World National Championship. That will be amazing.

  • 64. patrick  |  March 2nd, 2008 at 6:05 pm

    2to3to4to5to6to7to8to9to10 … youre a fool
    make some sense!!!

  • 65. rebecca  |  March 3rd, 2008 at 6:19 pm

    it would be cool :-)

  • 66. ant  |  March 3rd, 2008 at 6:28 pm

yh it be mint even throw u cna’t make transfer I would love 2 be england brazil or italy

  • 67. emma  |  March 7th, 2008 at 4:23 pm

i think this would be cool but if people had like 45 rep and had like barcalona and real mardid they would not be able to pick a culb that mean you would have to start another account just so you could manage a international culb

  • 68. akash  |  March 13th, 2008 at 10:43 am

hopefully indian team are in it

  • 69. sanj  |  March 13th, 2008 at 5:49 pm

    tbh,

all INTERNATIONAL clubs involved and then have qualifiying and then group stages and then the knock out rounds.

This should be in there own setup and run by its own also all 23 players should be there but if a player gets injured you can pick a replacement but he has to be ova 80

  • 70. lois  |  March 16th, 2008 at 4:48 pm

ye i think there should be a minimum number of manager points needed tho otherwise it will get overcrowded

  • 71. Joshua  |  March 16th, 2008 at 5:27 pm

I wreken you should be able to managed national teams whith gold membership and it wil be worth about £20

    from
    Joshua Scott

  • 72. Claude Mifsud  |  March 16th, 2008 at 7:05 pm

This will surely be a great option. I would really use it and look forward to it! Thanks.

  • 73. lister  |  March 17th, 2008 at 9:41 pm

bring it out now it will be gr8 i alway wanted to manage england it would be fun

  • 74. daniel  |  March 19th, 2008 at 2:36 am

it would be a great idea but how would transfers work. u cant have sm1 playing for a team that they arent the nationality of

  • 75. Ross Parker  |  March 19th, 2008 at 7:39 am

I think at the end of each season the best managr should become the international manager of that country that he is managing in, say he was in charge of barcelona he would manage spain. And if you wanted to keep you international manager you would have to work harder to be the manager for the next season.

  • 76. Andoni  |  March 20th, 2008 at 5:51 pm

    I agree with #75.

I think that at the end of each season the top manager from each country that is represented in the league should be given that national team.

The way that it would work is as follows:
Lets say Arsenal wins the league with Barcelona in second and Man Utd. in third. The arsenal manager should get to concurrently run the England squad with his arsenal squad, the Barcelona manager would get Spain and so on.
It would give the managers incentives to finish first not only in the world championship setup, but also in front of their fellow countrymen. This way, lets say you are the manager of the LA galaxy for example, you get a benefit for coaching a crap team.

Then at the same time the league is running you could have friendlies and qualifiers like in real life. The national managers should get their choice of callups, etc.

Since the seasons are pretty quick you could run tournaments like in real life with qualifiers etc. every two years. You could have a European Championship every two years, the same with the world cup, Copa America, etc.

    Just a suggestion…

  • 77. Andoni  |  March 20th, 2008 at 5:52 pm

by years i mean setup seasons.

  • 78. Andoni  |  March 20th, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Going along with what I wrote in #76, the teams from countries that finish behind another manager…as the example stated with Arsenal winning, Barcelona in second and Man utd. in third…
The Man utd. manager should get a choice over the national teams that are left to be manager.

So england and Spain would be taken, as would all the other countries that have a club representative, so Italy, holland, etc.

This would allow for other national teams to be managed as well, and would still give clubs incentives to finish tops in their league.

  • 79. Jose Mourinho  |  March 20th, 2008 at 9:30 pm

I think being able to manage national teams is an unbelievably sublime idea. i almost had an orgasm when i heard this idea, i think SM should go ahead with it. well done

  • 80. musty  |  March 20th, 2008 at 11:18 pm

wen i 1st jointd soccermanager a few years ago i was thinkin that international management shud be introduced but now the hard bit is having 2 wait 4 it :)

  • 81. Joshua  |  March 24th, 2008 at 11:01 am

you won’t put transfers in you get your youth squad and resurves

  • 82. Abdiwakil  |  March 26th, 2008 at 11:55 am

I think that it is a very good idea for the peple that want to manage national teams. If you manage a club then its no use saying that it is a bad idea, if you don’t want to manage a top job then stay with your club and for the people that say i am managing 3 club teams if u want to manage international then quit 2 of your clubs and let other people manage them. I personally think that it is a brilliant idea because it brings compettition and enjoyment to the freaking game..
    Abdiwakil People!

  • 83. grant  |  March 26th, 2008 at 12:46 pm

i think this would be a rubbish idea beacause you wouldnt be able to get the country that you want and then the club game will finish

  • 84. Curtis moore  |  March 28th, 2008 at 2:54 am

I think that during a English championship club season, there should be international match’s on within the season but with the international team’s unavaible to manage.
So consequently player’s who are playing well in the league and cup (etc) can be called up for international duty.
This may also get alot of the smaller club’s in the spotlight if they have good youth or 1st team talent.
You could also have a International under 21’s but personally i would just have a normal international.

  • 85. daniel robertsos  |  March 29th, 2008 at 6:13 pm

well in i would love to have inter nationl manager

  • 86. Sib  |  March 31st, 2008 at 11:21 am

I think thats a great idea, but a few small things would also need to be changed. I currently run Swansea City, but it says somewhere that my club is in England. It would need to be changed to Wales before I could manage my country (that is, after I get promoted and finish above Cardiff City lol…)

  • 87. james wivell  |  March 31st, 2008 at 12:18 pm

i think that this should happen and that managers at any level, rating, etc, should be able to control a national team, though according to their international team expectancy, e.g., brazil - have to get to semi-final, can be sacked if the target(s) are not reached. I believe this should be part of a sererate type of setup so that you can have an all leagues setup w/out national teams, and others with. Also, i think you should have to choose your squad according to how players are playing.

  • 88. james wivell  |  March 31st, 2008 at 12:27 pm

i also think, say if you manage liverpool, you could manage any country, alex mcleish managed scotland and now birmingham, make it realistic, also, you could also run the FA as the national manager, e.g., if you manage England, you run the english FA and choose how much money you give to clubs, etc, to buy english players and use them, also, have national teams that don’t have club representatives in particular championships, e.g., senegal.

  • 89. eddy  |  April 5th, 2008 at 2:07 pm

i think that they should do that

  • 90. jack  |  April 5th, 2008 at 3:21 pm

i think it is a awsome idea tht we do this and we should pick our own players like we get a selection of the players we cn choose nd we pick 18 players we want and if they dont perform we cn drop thm for another player

  • 91. Shane Bobbett  |  April 6th, 2008 at 3:13 pm

    great idea

  • 92. ronaldinho gauchooo  |  April 6th, 2008 at 11:23 pm

If we can manage international teams you guys have to put
    1.Conacaf Gold cup
    2.Euro Cup
    3.Copa America
    4.African Cup
    5.Asian Cup
    6.confederations cup
    7.THE WORLD CUP
and please soccermanager put all the national teams beacause that will make it more fun.
    Thanks

  • 93. Mohammed Batata  |  April 11th, 2008 at 8:12 pm

also I think that in your league is a player gets injured for his club he should be injured for his internation team or vice virsa and also what if like a country has 5 players (in the game of coruse) does that mean you cant manage the country (e.g. iraq)

  • 94. Nathan taylor  |  April 20th, 2008 at 11:38 am

i think its a good idea and i think its best to let the managers pick there players and not just based on the best players and also having the world cup and euro is a fantastic idea lets hope that it happens

  • 95. jammy jimmy  |  May 3rd, 2008 at 2:57 pm

i fink it is a quality idea but seriously how long is it taking lol??? please hurry up but yer good idea

  • 96. mohamed  |  May 4th, 2008 at 11:44 pm

EXCELLENT IDEA BUT IF WE WERE ALLOWED TO HAVE AN EXTRA CLUB AND THAT COULD BE AN INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT IN YOUR HANDS.
THIS A GREAT IDEA BUT WHEN WILL THIS COME TO SOCCERMANAGER
PLUS IT WILL BE FUN BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT FOOTBALL MANAGER A GAME ON THE INTERNET DOES WHERE YOU CAN MANAGE A NATIONAL AND A CLUB.

  • 97. curtis  |  May 9th, 2008 at 4:18 pm

i think we should have all good player on own team but it must be one good player on each team en les it the team ho they play for

  • 98. tom goz  |  May 11th, 2008 at 10:42 pm

we should be able to manage national teams

  • 99. Dan Bailey  |  May 12th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

Its a good idea. I think if a manager does well in the league then they should be sent a message asking if they want to be the manager of a certain team, depending on how well they have done. i.e. A Manager who wins the league twice in a row gets asked to be manager of the Brazil International Team.

  • 100. Dan Bailey  |  May 12th, 2008 at 7:13 pm

Also The Chosen Manager Should Be Able To Choose The Squad He Wants For Upcoming Matches. There should also be a A, a B, a C and a youth squad all managed by different people.

  • 101. Stephen G  |  May 13th, 2008 at 11:22 am

Sounds like a really good idea.
However, there should be an extra club slot added so you can take over an international club as most people can only manage up to three teams.
Apart from that can’t wait, should be brilliant!!!!!

  • 102. victory  |  May 14th, 2008 at 9:32 pm

maybe another idea is also to create an U-21 and U-18 league

  • 103. joe carr  |  May 18th, 2008 at 10:38 am

    this is a great idea

  • 104. Jonny Dring  |  May 18th, 2008 at 12:44 pm

If you didnt make it as international setups but that you can manage an international team aswell as a club in one setup then it’d be great.

  • 105. brett anderson  |  May 19th, 2008 at 2:46 pm

i think this is a bad idea because when people buy players there no point in the being a country .so you could do it bu no do transfers

  • 106. Arynn  |  May 21st, 2008 at 10:02 pm

I think that if national teams are available to manage, then if you want to buy players or whatever, there should be parameters set as to what nationality you can buy. Like you manage England, then you could buy anyone from England and surrounding countries…

  • 107. SCOTT  |  May 23rd, 2008 at 6:21 am

what you should do is this…

at the end of a club season..each setup has its own cups or whatever..
depending on how many internation teams there are..play it like this..

    top 8 division 1 managers: brazil england france germany etc;
then keep getting lower from there..

winner of ..world cup;euro’s etc.gets a prize and gets MONEY for club level so you have something to achieve..

have it so winner of cup get like $50,000 .

    also..introduce UEFA champions league..

    like this

    top 2 german championship 1;top 4 english championship 1; top 4 spanish championship 1;
    match the numbers .
and same again make it league cash for the winner..

please take this under consideration it would make this great game even better!!!

  • 108. shahriar  |  May 24th, 2008 at 6:20 pm

u should include World Cup, AFC Cup, Copa America, Euro.
    dat would be all
    nd dere should be friendlies

  • 109. Michael Duffy  |  May 26th, 2008 at 4:58 pm

Thats good news. Are they gonna put every international team in there because I want to manage Republic of Ireland? I hope it will come fast enough.

  • 110. karl  |  May 28th, 2008 at 6:46 pm

that is a good idea but hurry up and you cannot do any transfers but its a good idea

  • 111. sprifti  |  May 31st, 2008 at 2:56 am

Great idea. Whats taking so long?

  • 112. Oliver Griffiths  |  May 31st, 2008 at 6:15 am

Maybe, instead of transfers the manager can pick a 32-man squad and then narrow it down to a 16 or 18-man squad for the match-day. Good Idea SM!

  • 113. Louis Butcher  |  June 1st, 2008 at 9:41 am

It will be great to have national teams and setups with qualifications
you should be able to play in american, euro, world, african, asian cups

  • 114. mevlan  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:33 pm

how long will it take to do it?

  • 115. Yas Yonis  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 6:38 pm

would there be teams like somalia?

  • 116. robert armstrong  |  June 10th, 2008 at 4:18 pm

its a great idear but it should happen sooner

  • 117. Kenneth  |  June 10th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

This is a great idea.It would be like real life.Good one

  • 118. david little  |  June 15th, 2008 at 4:40 pm

    This is a great idea

  • 119. Alexander Rodgers  |  June 18th, 2008 at 8:00 pm

I think that this would be an absolutely fantastic idea. I also think that it would be a good idea to be able to mamnage an international team ontop of your current limit for the number of teams your about to manage!
However, you would have to have lots of the same team because I can guarrantee that there will be more than one person wanting to manage England, or Brazil and so on!

  • 120. Farzrul  |  June 21st, 2008 at 12:23 pm

GREAT IDEA~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but It’s taking too long.when will we be able to manage?

  • 121. mr.s  |  June 22nd, 2008 at 2:59 pm

maybe u’d consider introducing, as part of financial improvment, various sponsers that will contact managers at 1st of every season to work out a contract….
maybe u can introduce the sponsors in some way like under the name if the team ( in that way u may contact companies for advertisment)

  • 122. Christian Lyne  |  June 24th, 2008 at 3:07 pm

dats a gud idea …i bags managin brazil..haha…bt its nt gonna happen coz its takin 2 long

  • 123. Vishal  |  June 26th, 2008 at 5:20 am

When will the “international management” get started..???
i thought it would start during the time of euros but now euro is coming to an end and there is no hint whatsoever about this topic.I kindly request SM to let us know what they are doing and planning about this idea and that the managers should be informed as soon as possible about this great idea!!!!

  • 124. SwooshArsenal  |  June 26th, 2008 at 3:49 pm

This’s Going to be on of the best ideas, i can’t wait

  • 125. Sean  |  June 29th, 2008 at 7:50 pm

I cant w8 till this happpens so I can go Scotland and see how well the players are and the ratings. I think the top 10 international teams are (not in order) holland, Argentina, brazil, Scotland, England, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy ( they have a very good team and brill players but they cheat!) and France

  • 126. abands  |  July 2nd, 2008 at 9:26 pm

I think its a good idea, however, just don’t forget about Asian and African teams while you are at it too.

  • 127. andy surman  |  July 4th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

i think it is a good idea

  • 128. andy surman  |  July 4th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

i think it is a good idea

  • 129. Adetola  |  July 6th, 2008 at 11:25 pm

    It’s gonna be fun!!!!!
But everyone would want to go for the big teams like brazil, england, france and stuff, forgeting the rest

  • 130. Giordano Bishop  |  July 7th, 2008 at 5:18 pm

It Is A Fanasic Idea…Get It In ASAP!…

  • 131. Luke  |  July 8th, 2008 at 7:49 pm

i cant waitim gonna be one!

  • 132. Sheepy5  |  July 11th, 2008 at 6:14 pm

    I like this idea
Perhaps the countries should be put in divisons so for example teams like France, Brazil be put in divison 1 and teams like Estonia and Luxembourg be put in the bottom divison

  • 133. Michael Duffy  |  July 18th, 2008 at 7:42 pm

What a fantastic idea team. And to make it more fun, you can put every international team. If you do, I would like to manage Republic of Ireland because they’re the country I live in. I just wish it could happen now. I’ll save my last club for it.

  • 134. Stevie G  |  July 19th, 2008 at 11:00 pm

Are national teams to be allocated to managers dependent on success at club level? Are national teams to be allocated to managers dependent on how long they have been in the setup?
Answer, they should be allocated on both the criteria above. A list of long term managers who have shown a good degree of success in their respective leagues, should be emailed outlining that they have been considered for the job. If they decide to go for the opportunity, then SoccerManager can look at each respective manager and decide who is the best possible choice, based on their football history. Performance in their new position will determine if they keep their job or not. If they are sacked, then a list of other managers is drafted and the process begins again……..its just an idea.

  • 135. paul  |  July 21st, 2008 at 12:19 pm

this will be a brilliant idea and u could include euro and the world cup

  • 136. ash  |  July 22nd, 2008 at 8:51 pm

its a great idea bring it on!!!

  • 137. nick  |  July 26th, 2008 at 1:22 pm

they should be allocated on how well you are doing with your club team within that set up.. i.e. if you are doing well and winnin the league say for example brazil will ask you to be their manager and each international team should have minimum expectation.. i.e. brazil must get to semi final of world cup or you are sacked but say some like russia might just have to qualify or you get the sack, then giving everyone the chance within that set up to get the job, not just the first person stayin forever!!!

  • 138. aaron  |  July 31st, 2008 at 10:59 am

that would be great when we can manage our own international team and it’s got group stage n everything like the world cup and thew euros gonna be mintage cant wait!

  • 139. ryan  |  July 31st, 2008 at 11:12 am

this is a great idea but i want it to hurry up

  • 140. ryan  |  July 31st, 2008 at 11:15 am

good idea but i think that international jobs should be available to anyone who has got at least 1 club at any time

  • 141. arian  |  August 1st, 2008 at 4:19 pm

i think is great because we can manage our national teams greatttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • 142. alo  |  August 1st, 2008 at 4:27 pm

    players should have no ratings

  • 143. liam  |  August 4th, 2008 at 3:36 pm

good idea but to long :(

  • 144. george tsintsadze  |  August 4th, 2008 at 8:37 pm

i think it must be for managers over 65 and the manager must select the whole squad before each match (or must be able to change squad before each match).

  • 145. James  |  August 5th, 2008 at 8:51 pm

I think they should have world cups and euro . but if this idea does happen you should have a little apartment on your homepage saying International Teams and have your own reputation for that apartment

  • 146. kyle jackson  |  August 11th, 2008 at 9:51 pm

    gd idea
another gd idea could be to manage under 21 teams

  • 147. ollie  |  August 14th, 2008 at 4:53 pm

    great idea

  • 148. momo  |  August 15th, 2008 at 8:59 pm

Well i think it should be run with set ups and i tjink african cup of nations should be included to

  • 149. Jay  |  August 24th, 2008 at 7:18 pm

i think that international management is a great idea.
it should run along side our own custom setups,
so we can manage both teams.

i think that the players should have a stat by their name
saying how many caps they have won within soccermananer,
so other managers wihtin the setup can see how many times
they have played within the internationals.

i think if they get injured within the international games then
this should affect their normal club level, however i think
their fitness should not chance, then this stops other managers from choosing players that are not apart of their club level.

but international management should be a great idea however soccermanager choose to place it.

  • 150. Jamie Jacka  |  August 30th, 2008 at 11:49 am

The international set ups are a good idea. I think they should be run with in each setup and the mangers should be able to run their clubs and natioanl side at the same time. The teams should be given ut based on the managers points total and win ratio, not on who has the best teams. This helps to ensure the national competitions are only played by the best managers.

  • 151. paul  |  August 31st, 2008 at 9:42 am

i think international will be great but what i think is if you do well with your club you get scouted and offered a international job

    like:
    from - liverpool - usa - brazil
    club crap good
    international international

  • 152. ry  |  September 2nd, 2008 at 5:35 pm

that a mint idea you can make a world cup

  • 153. Jamie Mourant  |  September 5th, 2008 at 10:22 am

we should be able to manage 3 clubs at rank 50.. 2 club 1 international. It will bring fun to sm

  • 154. EVANS APPIAH  |  September 10th, 2008 at 10:47 am

yes.this is a very good idea.managing national team will be quite fun..world cup, continental trophies and so on.but i think non gold members shld manage 5 clubs ! just a request!

  • 155. sean hayes  |  September 13th, 2008 at 8:12 pm

i think internatinal teams would be really good and make soccermanager more fun than it is atm=]

  • 156. ry  |  September 23rd, 2008 at 8:01 pm

its a mint idea just do it

  • 157. ry  |  September 24th, 2008 at 9:26 pm

    when it be done

  • 158. lister  |  September 26th, 2008 at 4:37 pm

open the teams to every1 not just people thats been on here a long time

  • 159. G.K  |  September 27th, 2008 at 10:57 pm

I think national teams should be allocated to managers performance rather then how long you have been playing the game to make it fair.

  • 160. $KaBaB  |  October 12th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

can not what can you have asian teams and have a world cup.plz

  • 161. Chris  |  October 14th, 2008 at 10:30 pm

international teams would be a well gd idea, and I think that in terms of selecting players injuries shouldn’t affect the league so that people couldnt abuse the system as suggested. other than that, I think managers should have free rein of who they choose to make it as open as possible. as long as injuries dont affect the league this should be a good way of doing it. I think both a single tournament and a league would be good too. all in all v gd idea looking forward to it!

  • 162. edriean  |  October 18th, 2008 at 9:01 am

great idea i will support whateva improvement in this gaming browser

  • 163. mustafa yavuz tekin  |  November 10th, 2008 at 1:57 am

İt’s the worst idea I ‘ve ever heard. Becouse there are too much power differences with some national teams. Ex: Argentina-San Marino … think about that … noone wants to manage San Marino

  • 164. luke  |  November 11th, 2008 at 5:12 pm

YEAH I TINK DATS A GRAET IDEA BUT PLZ HURRY UP

  • 165. Nani  |  November 19th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
