Ideas & Suggested Improvements: Custom Setups

We receive a lot of suggetions in relation to Custom Setups, and I will put some of these ideas forward in this article.

Could you imagine when you are creating your Custom Setup if you could choose a time of when you wanted the setup to be created? Could you imagine that you could choose what day and time (from a list of available slots) you want your matches played? Well these are two suggestions we receive in relation to Custom Setups on a regular basis.

So why should we even consider the feasibility of these suggestions? There are a few reasons why we should consider this and these range from SM being a global game with people from various time zones to allowing Custom Setups being more custom/different.

So what would all of this mean if it was feasible, and we were to develop this idea at a future date? Well when creating your Custom Setup as well as using the options you have at present you could choose for example to create the setup at 10:00 Eastern Time if you are from the USA. Then due to a five hour time difference between the Eastern seaboard and United Kingdom choose for example to have your matches played on Wednesdays and Fridays 21:00 Eastern Time. So basically you would if you were from the Eastern seaboard of Amercia be creating your Custom Setup to cater for your friends and family (due to the time differences).

Are these ideas which would appeal to those of you who own your own Custom Setups?

Are these ideas which would appeal to those of you who own your own Custom Setups?

Hell yeah, it would be one of the best improvements to date in my view.

It would also be extrodinary if we could build our full calender of fixtures aswell, setting things like derby matches and who played who and when ect. I’m sure everyone would welcome that idea but not sure if it would be feasable (I had to get Ste’s favourite word in somewhere)

This would mean that soccermanager would run slow almost 24/7, once people have matches going at every single hour.

SM, if you are reading this please allow gold members to choose how much money they can have on each team in a Custom Setup. This because I tried to create a dream team with all of the good players on it, when i bought the gold membership, i thought that you can choose which players go on which team, but i was mislead so please SM can you implement freedom to custom setups.

I think it’s a good idea, apart from like if your living in the USA & the setup creator lives in the UK makes it a confusing times for matches. So to sort this out, i say, depending on the setup, it should be based on the countrys own time no matter what country YOU are actually from. For example: Liam, lives in the UK but setup at Master League setup (USA’s League) but the time will be based on the setups country instead of the setups creator’s country time. Hope it makes sense, it’s hard to explain lol.

I think that the team selection under the tactics should allow you to still drag and drop players off of the starting XI as it is then easier to find your best players when they are all together, rather than scattered around. Also, the morale is confusing when being shown on this page as it can look like the player is injured when actually he just has poor morale.

I think it would be nice to have a section for training players in different skills…I think would be nice for users who want to grow young players..

If players can improve and their ratings go up by being trained, then the ratings and the game would not be realistic.

If the set up creators could decide how much money each team can have, then it will be unfair to all the other managers playing.

But as Jamie has pointed out, the SM would be slow at every single hour. Also, some members (especially GM’s) will have to remember when games in different setups are played. For example, one setup will play their games at 9:00 GMT and another at 20:00 GMT, etc. I think there are pros and cons with this suggestion

Standard Setups For Poeple From Certain Countries/Area’s Only

For Example World Chmapionship 2900,

Only Those Living In USA Can Enter This Setup
Only Those In Asia Can Enter…. Etc Etc

shanes idea of youth leagues and youth cups would be cool i mentioned it afew times so its good im not the only one who thinks about it.
