Cheating FAQ

Q. Can several people who share the same computer or IP number each have their own account?
A. Yes. However, it is highly advisable to avoid doing transfers with each other. There are plenty of other clubs to buy from, so there should be no need to deal with each other. Additionally, you may not log on to each other’s accounts under any circumstances. Teams must be managed individually.

Q. I believe a manager in my setup constantly joins under different names to take control of a club to prevent transfers going through - what should I do?
A. If you suspect that a manager in your setups is constantly doing this, in order to prevent you purchasing a player, please email support@soccermanager.com with full details regarding this activity.

Q. I believe a manager in my setup has joined under different names to take control of several clubs - what should I do?

A. A manager is only allowed one club per setup, and by having multiple clubs within the same setup, he is in breach of the rules. If you suspect a manager has different aliases, please email support@soccermanager.com with full details.

Q. Are you allowed to do transfers with family members and friends?
A. Yes. However, you need to conduct transfers with family members and friends, as you would do with any other manager within your setup.

Q. I believe a transfer in my setup is not legitimate – what should I do?
A. Firstly, you will need to email support@soccermanager.com with full details. We will then look into the various accounts and details involved in the transfer(s), and then make a decision we see fit.

Q. I have been asked to trade clubs by another manager - what should I do?
A. We strongly advise all our members not to agree to swapping clubs with anyone. If you do it is at your own risk as you could be cheated out of your club.

Q. I was asked to trade clubs by another manager, the other manager took my club and did not give me his - what can I do?
A. There is nothing you can do. We strongly advise all of our members not to agree to swapping clubs with anyone, if you do it is at your own risk.

Q. A manager in my setup is deliberately playing his players out of position – what should I do?

A. If you suspect that a manager in your setup is deliberately playing players out of position, please contact support@soccermanager.com with full details.

Q. How do I report abuse via Private Mail, SM Chat and the Forum?

A. If you feel that you are being abused in any form, and via any of our communication, you need to report this to support@soccermanager.com with full details (and screen shots if applicable).

Q. How do I report a suspected cheater?

A. If you suspect a manager is cheating, you can report them to support@soccermanager.com (for all cases -related to cheating). You should not discuss any suspected cheating on the forum, in the chat room or with the managers involved.

Q. I reported a cheater and nothing has happened!
A. First of all, you do not know if something has been done or not. Each case is reviewed individually, and then we decide what action to take. Secondly, we might have chosen another punishment in place of a ban. Thirdly, the team could very well have been innocent. Sometimes there is a perfectly reasonable explanation behind what appears to be blatant cheating.

Q. What action is taken when someone cheats?
A. This is dependent on what the manager has done. We review each case individually, and punishment can range from a warning email, reversing transfers, losing a club(s), suspension, or an outright ban.

Q. I am getting private message from a manager claiming to work for SM – what should I do?
A. First of all SM would never send a private message to any of its managers. If you are receiving messages from someone claiming to work for SM, you need to report this to support@soccermanager.com with full details.

Q. A manager in my setup never logs on - kick him out!
A. It takes upto 30 days without a login for a manager to lose their team, depending on how long the manager has been playing SoccerManager. New managers must log in every 14 days before they lose there team.
