Following Venezuela’s recent success in hosting the 42nd edition of the Copa America, the Copa America 2007, the host nation found a new lease of life for the worlds greatest game. The host nation put on a good show in the Copa, and the country showed that they had made great strides over the past few years.
New Clubs Added to DB
If you take a look around the various European leagues, you will usually tend to find the same names competing for the league title each season. There is one exception though, and this league has had eight different league winners in the past ten seasons. You will be surprised to hear that this league is the Belarusian league (or Vysshaya Liga).
Due to freezing player rating changes (due to the new schedule) until the start of June, the Researchers at SM have taken this opportunity to expand the DB.

The Chinese Super League is one of the up-and-coming leagues in Asian football, and we thought it would be suitable to recognise this by adding the leagues clubs to the DB.
The Chinese Super League (CSL) was launched in 2004, but the inaugural season was plagued with grave controversy.
The DB is ever expanding, and this week the Polish league is in the process of being added. The league has suffered from a massive scandal in recent weeks, rearding match fixing, which has been taking place for a good number of years.
The SM Researchers have today updated the squads for Egypt’s big three - Al-Ahly, Al-Zamalek and Ismaily.
The Egyptian league is one of the strongest on the African continent, and they have dominated the CAF Champions League since the turn of the century - providing winners in 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006 (also coming runners up in 2003).
Two times CAF Champions League winners (2003 & 2004), Enyimba, have recently been added to the DB.
Enyimba have dominated their league since the turn of the century, and have transferred this success on to the African stage, claiming the CAF Champions League twice.
African football remains an enigma to many Western observers, mainly due to the lack of coverage, and also lack of information available. This has not stopped the SM Researchers though, and over the past few weeks, they have successfully researched the main African leagues.
The researchers at SM are always looking at adding new leagues to their ever growing database (DB). Over the past fortnight, teams from the mighty Welsh Premier League have been added to the DB.
